Medical physics is the application of physics to medicine. It generally concerns physics as applied to medical imaging and radiotherapy, although a medical physicist may also work in many other areas of healthcare. A medical physics department may be based in either a hospital or a university and its work is likely to include research, technical development and clinical healthcare.
Biomedical engineering is the application of engineering principles and techniques to the medical field. It combines the design and problem solving skills of engineering with medical and biological sciences to help improve patient health care and the quality of life of individuals. If you want to learn more about what a medical physicist or biomedical engineer does then see the About/Careers section of the website or contact the ACPSEM Office on 61 2 9700 8522 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it |
