Australiasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine

APESM is the journal of the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine whose members work in Hospitals, Universities, Research Institutions and Government Bodies and embrace the application of physics, electronic, electrical and mechanical engineering, chemistry, mathematics and computer science to medicine and biology.

The circulation of the journal is approximately 620 with about 60% of subscribers in Australia, 30% in New Zealand and 10% in Europe, Asia and North America. The journal is also the official journal of the College of Biomedical Engineers, Engineers Australia and the Asia-Oceania Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics.

2009 charges for advertisements:

i) Full colour advertisement on the rear outside cover of the journal for $2,100 (inc GST) for one issue, or $3,700 (inc GST) for the same advertisement printed in two consecutive issues. Rear cover advertising is on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Colour advertisements on the inside of front and back covers are available for $1,200 (inc GST) per page for one issue, or $2,100 (inc GST) per page for the same advertisement printed in two consecutive issues.

ii) Full page advertisement (not half page, etc.) on the first pages of an issue forming part of the journal for $600 (inc GST) per page for black & white, or $1,000 (inc GST) per page for colour. The cost of producing artwork, layout, photographic reduction and block for half tone pictures is additional.

iii) Loose leaf inclusions to be slipped inside an issue of up to three A4 sized brochure sheets, which can either be supplied by the advertiser in the required numbers or produced by the publisher. A charge of $600 (inc GST) is made for the inclusion and distribution. Cost of production of brochures will be by negotiation, but as an example the charge for producing a single sided typed A4 job advertisement and duplicating in the required numbers is $140 (inc GST).

Special mailings of advertisements:

Advertising clients should be aware that between each issue of the journal, the APESM distributes notices to its membership (but not sent to libraries). This may be especially suited to job advertisements where the application deadline occurs before the next journal issue. There are several options and costs for e-mail and hardcopy mailings.
